LOVE YOUR ROOFER!
He doesn’t even come close to the pay of your local
Fireman. And in fact, your friendly Police Officer’s yearly benefits alone add up to more than he makes in
a year. So would it surprise you to learn that roofing is one of the top ten deadliest
occupations? Fireman and Police Officers didn’t even make the list.

So
when the local news flashes a picture of a hero risking life and limb to keep a
building safe or a home from eminent damage, put the picture of a roofer in
your mind.
He
won’t get a mile long funeral and compatriots from around the state praising
his unselfish duty. In fact, he would be lucky to get a mention in the local
paper. No special savings account set up for his widow or children. No medal.
No press. No thank you.
Roofing
is a time honored profession. It requires years of training to become
proficient and even more years to become a professional. It takes a special
person to master the ability to perform exact work, often hanging by a rope
20ft or 30ft in the air, during conditions that would force the rest of us to
call it a day and head inside.
So
when your hear that a roofer got hurt or killed, or maybe you see one in your
neighborhood laboring away, say a little prayer for them and thank God your not
a roofer.
